A little chance. A lot of possibility.
Write for Us
We occasionally publish practical guides from teachers, game designers and tabletop players. Here is what we look for and how to pitch an idea.
Topics we accept
- Classroom activities that use dice for counting, addition, probability or literacy.
- Tabletop roleplaying advice about dice mechanics, modifiers and fair play.
- Board game tips where dice play a central role.
- Clear explanations of dice probability for beginners.
- Accessible and inclusive ways to run dice games.
Topics we do not accept
- Gambling, betting or casino content of any kind.
- Articles written mainly to promote a product, service or website.
- Topics unrelated to dice, games or learning.
Quality standards
- Practical: readers should be able to use your advice straight away.
- Accurate: every number and probability must be correct and checkable.
- Clear: short paragraphs, plain American English and descriptive headings.
- Specific: real examples from your teaching, play or design experience.
- Sourced: link to reliable sources for facts you did not work out yourself.
Originality requirements
Submissions must be your own work and must not have been published anywhere else, including on your own website. Copied, rewritten or automatically spun content will be rejected. Tell us if you used AI tools while writing, and send only images you created or have the right to use.
Editorial review
Every submission is reviewed by our editors. We check facts and math and may edit for accuracy, clarity, length and style. We may also ask you to make changes.
Publication is not guaranteed. We may decline any pitch or draft, and we may update or remove a published article later if it becomes inaccurate.
How to submit
Send a short pitch before writing a full article. Email contact@virtualdiceroller.co with the subject line “Write for Us pitch” and include:
- A working title and a three- to five-point outline.
- Who the article is for and what readers will be able to do after reading it.
- One or two links to writing you have published before.
- Any commercial connection to the topic (see below).
What happens next
If we would like to see a draft, we will reply with next steps. We cannot reply to every pitch, so if you do not hear from us within a few weeks, please assume we are not taking the idea forward.
Commercial submissions and disclosure
We do not sell publication or links. If you work for, are paid by or have any financial connection to a company, product or website mentioned in your pitch, you must tell us before we review it.
If we ever publish an article with a commercial connection, it will be clearly labeled, and any links will be marked to show that relationship. Submissions with undisclosed connections will be rejected, or removed if already published.
What we never accept
- Spam, mass pitches and automated outreach.
- Copied, plagiarized or spun content.
- Misleading claims, invented statistics or false credentials.
- Hidden links, link exchanges or requests to add links to existing pages.
